Вот удивительно тошнотворный сайт, по-моему.

Что-то в этом есть очень пошлое, может, пресмыкание такое, не знаю.

You see, unlike you, we are still in "the reality-based community" and realize that America still is a part of this Earth.

Would you be so kind as to drop your demagoguery? First of all, I'm not a Republican, so you're barking at the wrong tree.

What you just said simply confirms one of the worst cliches about Democrats (or leftists in general) - namely that they're simply too immature to understand that there are points of view differing from their own; and when confronted with such they (instead of presenting valid arguments in favor of their own p.o.w. or just agreeing to disagree[*]) resort to ad hominem attacks (i.e. claiming that their opponents are stupid, or "detached from reality", etc).

Time to grow up and realize that this kind of "argumentation" is exactly why a lot of people who are quite far from the Christian right[**] still have trouble taking Democrats seriously. Sorry, calling opponents stupid doesn't make you look any smarter. Just the opposite.

[*] Meaning taking time to figure out own weaknesses and to try to do better next time.

[**] Like me. I do quite a few things in my personal life that most people would consider distasteful and immoral, and which the current laws consider illegal (though all of those are victimless "crimes against morality"). That makes me far more libertine and interested in civil liberties than straight vanilla monogamous non-smoking wine-drinking square liberals could imagine. So there.

Do you accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior?

Do you accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior?

I fail to see the relevance of this question (unless you keep insisting on thinking along the "right-religious" vs "left-secular" lines which would only show that your comprehension never went beyond the propagandist caricature - for the left are just as belief-based as right, though their beliefs have less to do with deities and more with new agey mysticism of equalling good intentions with good results).

Besides, my personal beliefs have no bearing on the argument, indeed, by insisting on dragging my person into the discussion you're still practicing the demagoguery - i.e. using the time-honored maneuver of shifting from the issue discussed (namely, ideological impotence and immaturity of the Left) to the persona of your opponent.

However, I would indulge your inquisitiviness by stating that I'm an atheist. Did that change the meaning of what I said earlier? Not a single bit.

You see, like our great president, once you believe in Jesus Christ as the only way to Salvation, you will understand that the only the people that believe in him will be saved, and the other people are going to burn in hell for eternity.

Thank you for explaining me the basics of Christian faith. You are obviously unable to understand what I'm saying. I guess continuing this dialogue is useless. Bye.
