avvaThe Little Professor (веблог очень умной и начитанной профессора англ. литературы, специализирующейся на викторианской прозе) дала ссылку на стихи Вордсворта, которые не стоит давать читать студентам в начале учебного года, потому что они о том, что следует не книги читать, а сидеть на солнышке и смотреть на окружающий мир. См. страницы 183-189 вот этого издания, названия "Expostulation and Reply" и "The Tables Turned".
В частности, цитирую две строфы из второго стихотворения:
Up! up! my friend, and clear your looks,
Why all this toil and trouble?
Up! up! my friend, and quit your books,
Or surely you’ll grow double.
[...]
Books! ’tis a dull and endless strife,
Come, hear the woodland linnet,
How sweet his music; on my life
There’s more of wisdom in it.
