The primary reason for this liberal confusion is the large number of prominent liberals who came of age during the Vietnam War, and thus learned to hate the U.S. military and sympathize with Third World despots. This pampered generation is working its way through the body politic, like a deer through the digestive tract of an anaconda. Until they are no more, thoughtful liberals must fight a ceaseless rear-guard action against brain-dead hippies.
