Я писал когда-то давно о том, что фраза "писк моды" в сетевом поиске находится в большем количестве страниц, в несколько раз, чем исходное "крик моды". А вот попался хороший английский аналог того же явления:

The Old New Thing: If you go to your favorite search engine and search for the phrase "defeat from the jaws of victory", you'll find that it turns up several times more its than the phrase "victory from the jaws of defeat". I just find it oddly amusing that the joke has become more popular than the phrase it came from.

И еще: хочу отметить свое отвращение к относительно новому, кажется, слову "ask" в роли существительного; например, вчера промелькнуло в почте на работе: "their primary asks from us are...". Несколько нет назад об этом писал LanguageLog, и еще недавно оно попалось на глаза в сообществе stopsayingthat. Кажется, оно особенно быстро размножается в среде корпоративного жаргона.

Personally, I hate "bling" and hope that it is a fad.
