Notice, the ad says 'logarithmic leaps' not 'logarithmic growths'. If you make fixed leaps in logarithm of some quantity - this is exactly exponential growth.

Well, I deal enough with 'linear in log' in my work, although would not present exponential growth this way :) But I think a comment below is correct - I suspect 30 years ago logarithm could have been more obvious to public than exponential - after all many went through logarithmic rulers in their school.
