Самое тошнотворное в происходящем — это то, что весь нынешний американский правый дискурс просто воспроизводит лозунги "русских националистов" 20-летней давности. Все те же тухлые идейки: все наши беды — от иммигрантов и инородцев, прочие страны и народы испокон веков на нашем горбу ездят и за наш счет жируют, "два союзника", плюс выяснение вопроса о том, кто тут правомочный наследник великих предков, а кто — потомок понаехов (что особенно удивительно на американской почве).

Хотя я вот не припомню, чтобы кто-то из российских православных патриотов совершил выдающееся открытие: "наши национальные интересы заключаются в том, чтобы порабощать и грабить слабые народы", врать не буду.

Единственное отличие — в том, что российские прото-ватники вплоть до самого крымнаша относились к Путину скептически, а плоды размышлений американских консервативных интеллектуалов идут в нагрузку к идиотски-восторженному культу туркменбаши из Мар-а-Лаго."

Biden’s agenda is maximum migration: illegals, refugees, Afghan nationals, guest workers (esp. H1Bs), LPRs, low-wage foreign workers for corporate donors, etc. The Dem budget is central to realizing this agenda, showering the world with US green cards.

Not long after World War II the West dissolved its empires and colonies and began sending colossal sums of taxpayer-funded aid to these former territories (despite have already made them far wealthier and more successful). The West opened its borders, a kind of reverse colonization, providing welfare and thus remittances, while extending to these newcomers and their families not only the full franchise but preferential legal and financial treatment over the native citizenry. The neoliberal experiment, at its core, has been a long self-punishment of the places and peoples that built the modern world.

For years the United States operated as a “reverse Empire,” using its military to enrich foreign nations and foreign peoples, sacrificing our wealth, security and sovereignty for the sole benefit and advancement of those beyond our borders.

All we got in return were migrants.

No more.

For decades, the structure of US society, by intent and design, was remade to redistribute wealth, resources, property and opportunity from Americans to non-Americans.

In the early part of the 20th century, the American Federation of Labor led the charge for fifty years of immigration restriction. The Federation’s founder, Samuel Gompers, was one of the driving forces behind the generations-long crackdown, saying “those who favor unrestricted immigration care nothing for the people.” Amazing how the AFL-CIO now advocates for the replacement of American workers with an endless supply of cheaper foreign labor.

Someone should write an alternate historical novel where Americans are the first to master the automobile, the first in flight, the first to harness the atom, the first to land on the moon — but just keep going and never open our borders to the entire third world for sixty years.

For those who don’t know, the US had negative migration for the half century between the first nonstop transatlantic flight and the moon landing.

Конечно, есть такое мнение, что рыба гниёт с головы. Т.е. если запашок пошёл, то ещё ничего страшного, голову отрезать и будет вполне годна к употреблению.

Хотя, по-моему, она скорее с желудка гниёт.
