Интересно, что книга Франкена ещё не поступила в продажу, но уже на основе предварительных заказов обогнала в Amazon sales rank книгу Coulter. В последние несколько месяцев я видел немало причитаний в прессе по поводу того, что "Treason" стала одним из ведущих бестселлеров. Посмотрим, что скажут те же журналисты об успехе "Lies...".

Date: 2003-08-18 12:40 pm (UTC)Well, I am not there yet. I am going to study it I guess. It is really interesting. Ann Coulter made a good case for the defense. So, since I can not cross-examine neither here, nor the prosecution, nor the expert witnesses, I will have to appoint myself an expert and dig in :-)
In any case, I think that people who insist that a racist, or a sexist should be fired, or that a religious man should not be appointed to a government job should not blame MacCarthy - his target were communists, and not just some lame ones - those were communists during Stalin's rule. To make this statement I need not even study the issue, since this is a simple issue of hypocrisy.
