Повторение рефрена последних четырёх строк каждой строфы магическим образом создаёт нужную атмосферу заброшенного уныния, в котором одновременно всё происходит и ничего не случается. При чтении про себя от этой атмосферы остаётся только отдалённое эхо.

Надо, надо чаще читать стихи вслух.

А по-английски, к сожалению, прочитаю, но не пойму ведь ничего! И, учитывая возраст, не пойму, видимо, уже никогда.
