avvaОчень забавный мини-рассказ "The Spaceshop" Дэвида Гарнетта в записи LanguageHat: каждое второе слово в нём содержит опечатку в одной букве. Проверьте себя: можете ли вы восстановить первоначальную форму? Это оказывается не таким уж лёгким делом, хотя видно, на самом деле, что автор рассказа ещё это облегчил тем, что специально использовал немало привычных речевых клише.

Walking hurriedly along, he checked his watch. Only one minute now, even less...
And it was all his own fault. Had he left earlier, there would not be such a rush. He had been _faxing the cat_ and not noticed that the time was passing so quick.
He picked up pace, then saw the shop over on the corner. The lights were lit. Against all the odds, it was still open!
He ran even faster, dashed over the road—
—and made it.
But the door was locked.
"Ah, shit!" he exclaimed.
Not sure about "faxing the cat," either. "Waxing the car" sounds probable.
